Kindoms of Amalur: Reckoning

The creation of an RPG with the universe created by R.A Salvatore was from scratch an interesting prospect ...But was the actual game good, bad, fresh or just mediocre?Well in the end it was a really good experience....

Western Animated Film Gems...

...that are not either from Disney or Computer Animated. I used to watch quite a lot of these when i was a kid. And most of them seemed to be quite forgotten or only admired by a cult following. And that is a shame really since some of them can really give a very distinctive Western fell almost as unique and mature as their counterparts in Asia. Completely different of the typical template mainstream studios have enforce of the genre, but characteristic of the culture on our side of the globe at the same time.

Elder Scrolls 5 - Skyrim

I did not think that I would find a RPG this year that i would like better than the Witcher 2. But then I played Skyrim. Well in retrospective I still think that Witcher 2 is better, although Skyrim came close.Good  character driven story in RPGs is more unique and in the end alongside the typical RPG elements make for a more immersive game to me when doing the comparison. That being said Skyrim is absolutely awesome.Everything one would ask from an Elder Scrolls game and 10 times more!!!!

The Fall...Tarsem's Masterpiece...

As I heard about the immortals and got hyped by the trailer, I ended up seeing the Fall again...Tarsem's obsession movie, I guess, since he took him something close to 10 years to finish it...And with good reason if you think the details of production. So I remembered once again something that I have forgotten...That this is one of my favorite movies and maybe the most beautiful movie EVER made!!!!!

On stranger Tides...Hmmm...Maybe....?

It's been a week since the new sequel of the Pirates of The Caribbean came to the cinemas...I had many hopes for this... It seemed that they were actually returning to the basics of the first movie that was truly awesome and abandoning the style of the previous 2 parts of the franchise that ware truly disappointing. Were these hopes satisfied?Well yes and no....

Witcher 2 - Assassins Of Kings...Impressions...

Last week the new Witcher game was released entitled "Assassins of Kings". The first one is considered a cult hit but most people that appreciate RPGs appreciate the first Witcher, I know I did....The developers CD projekt has been advertising this new game for some time now and created quite a hype around its release stemming also from the quality of the first. So I finally got it into my hands myself.....

Shogun 2 Total War...Back to basics...

A little while ago the new installment on the Total war series came out. After the disappointing Empire I completely gave up in the series which I was an immense fan from the first Shogun. Empire was a disaster. Problematic A.I., overcomplicated mechanics that did not seem to make sense and sea battles that looked cool but never really made sense on how they were supposed to work...And I personally had many technical problems in my system. For me the game was almost unplayable. There were enough people that thought the same I guess, so CA proclaimed that the series would go back to basics by releasing Shogun 2  so many years after the original that begun this series. Oh my were they successful. Shogun 2 has again everything the Total War series had that made it one of the best strategy franchises in gaming history....

Ink....Something's gotta stop the flow

There were a number of great movies in 2009(like every year) that were never really in the spotlight yet they deserved it completely. Movies like "Le concert" and "Mr.Nobody" went relatively under the radar, while the media were wasting our time with dumped-down tech marvels like "Avatar" and shit like "the Hurt Locker". One such movie is an independent fantasy film by Jamin Winans called "Ink".

Ryûhei Kitamura...Ninja stars are for losers

From Undead to Aliens and from War Demons to the Yakuza, Kitamura' s movies covers every modern crazy, dark and twisted trend in filmaking that is expressed recently by directors like Tarantino, Rodriguez and Ritchie. I first saw a review about one of his movies in TGWTG website and was intrigued immediately. I saw 5 of his movies these last 10 days and I have to say it is everything that I hoped for. Interesting and unique camera work stylized, crazy and twisted violence and a few of the most enjoyable action scenes one could expect.

Carrying a Movie on your Shoulders...

Can really an actor carry on a whole movie on his own in the same Claustrophobic setting and still the end result be an interesting movie?..I thought if you have a good actor and good imagination it can happen but I never really considered it easy.I thought there was a huge risk of making such a movie boring and tiring. Yet last year 2 movies came out with that very characteristic and end up being pretty good, proving that I overestimated the difficulty of the style...Buried and 127 Hours...

Zebraman 2

Black and White,Baby!.This is the most famous phrase from this sequel. In 2004 Takashi Mike made a superhero fantastic movie named Zebraman! In the sequel we follow the events after 15 years (2025) in Tokyo which is now called Zebra City and a new ruthless law known as Zebra Time.Between 5:00 and 5:05 any crime done  doesn't get punished. The movie is fun ,it has a bit of pervertedness(it is takeshi mike),a very hot Villain(the black side of Zebraman,Zebra Queen) and it parodies the low budget Japanese superhero series.I wish to have in here more Japanese movie fans.Take care and wait for Dragon Age 2!!!!!!!!

First time that the oscars didn't irritate people that much?...

At least that was my experience considering the best picture award. You can find things to be mad about in other categories(Why the hell was Tron not nominated for original score I will never understand) but not the best picture. And there is a pretty good reason for it...It was the actual quality of the nominations. Although I have not seen all of the nominations for best picture, every single one I have seen are very good movies. Even if your personal choice didn't win you cannot really be angry since the eventual winner is a worthy one. There is no visual fun fest with no real content or a nonsensical bullet fest that is trying to be artsy with no effort at all this time...(aka. last years' awards)...Let us take them one by one(what I have seen at least)

Krull...Sci fi Cult Classic

I really don't know why this film does not have the recognition it should.OK granted it has a cheesy and cliché plot.A Prince tries to save his princess from the ultimate space evil. And you can find 100 plot holes but...Still...It is an 80s fantasy movie...You just suspend your disbelief a little bit more than usual and that is all you need to enjoy an entertaining movie.Cliché but classical and enjoyable Hero/Chosen one story, AMAZING (AMAZING!!!!) soundtrack, pretty good acting,a few unique characters and the usual 80s atmosphere we all know and love.

Burk and Hare

What can I say for this brilliant movie?? First of all the all star cast of actors. We have Simon Pegg from the Shaun of the dead and Andy Serkis whom u all know as the voice of Gollum and the Witchking. And the all star cast continues with Tom Wilkinson the fist mate of Jack Sparrow,Tim Curry the Cardinal Richelieu and final we have a small Cameo from Sir Christopher Lee.The place and time is 19th century Edinburg, the Medical Capital of the world.Burke and Hare are 2 small bandits who think the big plan of killing and selling the bodies to the medical schools. Also we have the birth of the term protection in its raw condition. It s a very funny movie (they have list in the big bars). Also I believe that Isla Fisher is very hot in this movie!!!
