First time that the oscars didn't irritate people that much?...

At least that was my experience considering the best picture award.You can find things to be mad about in other categories(Why the hell was Tron not nominated for original score I will never understand) but not the best picture. And there is a pretty good reason for it...It was the actual quality of the nominations. Although I have not seen all of the nominations for best picture, every single one I have seen are very good movies. Even if your personal choice didn't win you cannot really be angry since the eventual winner is a worthy one. There is no visual fun fest with no real content or a nonsensical bullet fest that is trying to be artsy with no effort at all this time...(aka. last years' awards)...Let us take them one by one(what I have seen at least)

Spartacus Fringe and a little of Oscars!

Firstly we saw the last episode of the prequel.We watched happily as HomoTulius and his bitch Vetius finally punished.Salonius with cleverness tried to gain a little pf glory but it came like boomerang with his utter defeat in the Primus games of the new arena.Ganicus in a bloody gory finish ended his gladiator career with the championship and Crixus cut his hair and beard as we see him in the normal series because he is fucking Lucretia .With the end of the Series we see the last scene of the original series and here Spartacus is organizing the revolution.In the other Great series we have a 1985 retro episode with opening sequence that looks like an 80s sci-fi show(it reminded me the beyond the frontiers of imagination).We watch the first encounter of Peter and Olivia,the experiments for crossing to the other universe and the asshole stepfather of Olivia ashe  beats her.From the details most distinctive is the Apple computer. Also we learn that are  Brooklyn Dodgers in the other Universe.

And some words for the bloody Idiots who voted for the damn Oscars.King Speech took 2 many awards that  didn't deserved especially comparing it with the Cohen movie and Jeff Bridges as the True Actor.The other Gem from last year the Inception took mostly effects awards GRRRRRRRRRRR.And Dogtooth didnt took the award but some idiot with in a better world( what is stupid movie title!)

Dragon Age 2 Demo

Finally Bioware decided to try the sequel of her masterpiece "Dragon Age".The demo is available for download from the official dragon age web page and the file is about 1.88 Gb.If the demo reaches 1 million downloads 2 special items will be unlocked from the start,also if u complete the demo and u re logged in ur EA account a dwarven blade will be in ur inventory.In the demo we have 3 classes(warrior,mage,rogue) making it 6 choices with male/female option but the face is predetermined in the demo.We start with our sister a fight with darkspawn hurlocks and a Ogre giving us the opportunity to try our special powers(1-9 keys) in a 3d environment with the camera behind the player and not having maximum zoom out.Later 2 warriors are added in our party making it a total of 4 characters.In the demo u can collect items or money but u cant see the inventory cause its locked.Also the level up system is quite easy with the abilities categorized in trees.Overall it only opened my appetite for the full game at March 8-11.

Cape Smallville!

Well we had a superhero night!Firstly the Cape finished a 2 part episode with the Lich or as the Greek subbers say it Apethanto .In this episode we suspect even more that chess(cape nemesis) is orwell's(summer glau) father and somehow has killed her mother.Also he has a contact with his wife who believes that he is dead and starts to suspect that maybe her husband is not dead.In Smallville or as we say here Superman:the youth years he has taken the decision for the using glasses (as the subbers commented what if someone draws glasses in the picture?) and we have the third Darksied companion who uses the 7 deadly sins to control his victims, which it doesn't succeed with superman.Green arrow with his anger somehow we believe that he has become a Darkseid follower (since in all of their victims  the Letter Omega (Ω) appears engraved in their forehead)

Krull...Sci fi Cult Classic

I really don't know why this film does not have the recognition it should.OK granted it has a cheesy and cliché plot.A Prince tries to save his princess from the ultimate space evil.And you can find 100 plot holes but...Still...It is an 80s fantasy movie...You just suspend your disbelief a little bit more than usual and that is all you need to enjoy an entertaining movie.Cliché but classical and enjoyable Hero/Chosen one story, AMAZING (AMAZING!!!!) soundtrack,pretty good acting,a few unique characters and the usual 80s atmosphere we all know and love.

Fringe and Spartacus new eps!

Well we have new exciting episodes.Firstly in Fringe Olivia tries to take her relationship with Peter to the next level.William starts to think if he would have used amber to seal the weak points of our reality something which terrifies him.It's 2 episodes before the end of the season and the show its ready for a dramatic war between the 2 universes!At our next show and before the end of the prequel we have the death of Oenomeus wife by Lucretia's fault,the eventual death of paterfamilias.Lucretia has begun her downfall because of Talius's murderous act and the only thing we wait for next episode is her revenge and his death!So long and keep watching!!!!

Burk and Hare

What can I say for this brilliant movie?? First of all the all star cast of actors.We have Simon Pegg from the Shaun of the dead and Andy Serkis whom u all know as the voice of Gollum and the Witchking.And the all star cast continues with Tom Wilkinson the fist mate of Jack Sparrow,Tim Curry the Cardinal Richelieu and final we have a small Cameo from Sir Christopher Lee.The place and time is 19th century Edinburg, the Medical Capital of the world.Burke and Hare are 2 small bandits who think the big plan of killing and selling the bodies to the medical schools.Also we have the birth of the term protection in its raw condition.It s a very funny movie (they have list in the big bars).Also I believe that Isla Fisher is very hot in this movie!!!

Black Snake Moan

This movie went completely under my radar. I just stumbled upon a clip of the movie by chance and I was pleasantly amazed when I saw the whole thing. And it does make perfect sense to miss this movie since the way it was marketed and I guess the way it is know is from an event/image in the movie that really gives the wrong impression in one sense. That is the image of a half-naked Cristina Ricci chained by Samuel Jackson. Yet the actual feel of the movie is nothing like that.

OK granted that most of the superhero movies usually end up bad...Some really bad(with a few shining exceptions). But still this seem to have potential for a fun movie. Good cast great selection for Thor and the movie looks like it was given a lot of money. Hope they don't destroy the story as usual and manage the extraordinary accomplishment of making a boring Thor movie...(Hey really how hard can it be).

The Cape and the V(isitors)

Well Yesterday I saw the new episode of these series!

The Cape is a Superhero series that has many elements from Batman.We have the main character and his archnemesis with the Ridiculous name of Chess(thinks before ur move or u thinks a lot of moves ahead).The Cape in his real life was the only clean cop but the Chess set him a trap and everybody believe that he's dead.In this episode he confronts a Villain called Leech which in Greek they translated as Undead(lol the Greek translators can be funny).

Also his partner called Orwell (references on "1984" book of the same author) tries to find the heir of a big piece land who turns to be the villain eventually.She is the only big star of the Show as

she played in the Dollhouse and in Sarah Connors Chronicles.The other show I watched was the V. It is a series of aliens in human form which in secret they have reptile characteristics.This episode has a dramatic turn because the husband of one of the main characters dies.I don't like very much the queen of the aliens Anna the one with the short hair. I prefer her daughter the blond(she is hotter).Well I wait for comments if u watch one of these series.So Long!!!!!!!

Hurt Locker...Really?

As the Oscars are right around the corner i would like to say a few thing about the previous winner.The hurt locker.The movie that managed to disappoint me that Avatar did not win...Wow am I really saying that?.And not only an Oscar  but a BAFTA for best picture?God knows how many other of them...

Spartacus:Godz of the Arena !

Many of you early 2010 started to watch Spartacus:blood and sand before the great revolution of the slaves .Starz( the producers) tried to take advantage of this great brutal and sexual drama by creating the prequel! And Lucy Lawless (well known from Xena and BGU) as Lucretia is less nymphomaniac than in Blood and Sand but the drama shows how she become so fond of cock!And I believe that this show is a must for this Season and has more Blood !!!!!!

Divinity 2 Dragon Knight Saga

Back in 2002 Larian studios, a Belgian developer with limited resources, created the first game in the series: Divine Divinity. It was awesome. It was extremely buggy though. There were times that you could just be staring your screen thinking "What The Hell?????". But with the resources a company like Larian had it is understandable. And they did patch up the game eventually. The game was the perfect blend between classical RPGs and the Hack 'n' Slash action RPG styles. Nice story, beautiful world, lots of loots and great music. A joy for the RPG fan. After a prequel in 2004 there came the time for a actual sequel to the first game.It was released in the beginning of 2010 as Divinity 2 Ego Draconis.

Tron Legacy....You're messing with my Zen thing, man!

Let go for a more "mainstream" movie(I guess). As I said in the imdb version of the review there are some spoilers here.......

I can safely say that i was extremely pumped up from the first time i saw the first teaser from this movie...I am such a fan of the original tron that I could not wait.For the same reason i was terrified that it could be so bad that would kill the legacy of the original tron. I mean Hollywood has a really bad tradition with sequels.Well the good news is that the movie was not that bad. The bad news is that it could be so much better. No it ought be much better.

Dogtooth (Kynodontas)

I was very much amazed when i first saw this movie...It been so long since I watched a Greek movie using so bold images to present itself.I was even more amazed when I heard that it was actually presented with an Oscar nomination.I love it but I understand that it is not the type of movie that could easily have the wide recognition required for that.

Anyway as a whole this movie is a strict statement against manipulation and isolation that authority usually imposes on the people. Weather someone wants to interpret that on a society or family scale it doesn't really matter for the results and characteristics are the same. Although since I grew up in Greece i believe that that movie wants to focus on the outdated traditional Greek family values that for some reason still survive in many cases. The original motive of protecting the children leads to isolation, lies, manipulation, corruption and the creation of a world that makes twisted, incomplete individuals of both the parents and the children.

This is a highly symbolic film that uses exaggerated, harsh images and stories to get its opinion out clearly. Whoever tries to interpret the events of this film literally and tries to find realistic motives in the characters will fail miserably. It is over the top and crazy and weird exactly because it wants the show how unnatural this kind of relationships truly are.

For me it was brilliant!It will not be appealing to all people for sure but if any of you find what I describe interesting just go and see it for yourself.
